We all want our sons to become men of character who can navigate life’s obstacles and hold fast to what they know is right in the face of adversity. With that in mind, we’ve put together the greatest father-son rite of passage event of the summer!
Learn map and compass navigation from Navy SEAL, Garrett Unclebach, at the Navy SEAL Land Nav training grounds in Cleveland National Forest, California. Beyond the skill of navigating physical terrain, the lessons learned are directly applicable to life. The experience is designed for fathers to bond deeply with their son through hours of daily training together that will truly test their grit, focus, and decision making.
The trip will start when you get picked up from San Diego airport with 15 other father & son pairs ready to become better fathers, grow closer with their sons, and give their sons a great opportunity to test themselves.
You will spend 3 full days in Cleveland National Forest where both father and son will learn directly from Navy SEAL, Garrett Unclebach, how to navigate using map and compass. The final day will be a true test of the navigation ability you have learned with a graduation and special gift.
Every evening we will return to our lodgings in El Cajon for a hearty dinner and time relaxing in the pool and playing outdoor games.
One night will be a special word from Garrett’s father, Scott, on what it means to raise your son to be a warrior.
Cleveland National Forest is absolutely beautiful and this is a one of a kind experience. This will be a trip you will talk about for the rest of your life!

Sunday- Pick up from airport, Check in, Trip Brief, Map Test
Monday- All day in Cleveland National Forest, Basic Navigation and survival skills
Tuesday- All day in Cleveland National Forest, Navigation points, practice test
Wednesday- All day in Cleveland National Forest, Final Test, Graduation
Thursday- Return to airport
